The Story Behind this Trip

Mon's in Vietnam for work until December, most probably. I'll be enrolling in graduate school in June (will be too busy that time). April 30 and May 1 are holidays in Vietnam. There's a $48 round-trip fare to Vietnam (exclusive of whatever surcharge). That's why even if there's a lower value fare available for June to August trips, I'm doing it now. Yeah, I miss him. (Oh, cheesy.)

It was my first time to book a flight by myself online. It was hassle-free, so convenient that I doubted that's all I needed to fly. No visa requirement, too. So all the while, I was troubled and paranoid that they (airport personnel and whoever) would not let me in the airport, the airplane or Vietnam.

Earlier in the taxi ride, I remembered that during my first trip abroad (this is my second), when I was days away from turning 18, the airport personnel almost did not allow me into the airport (or whatever point of the process that was) because I was minor and my mother was not with me. Hey, my mother already passed away that time, and I was with my father, but the personnel wanted a copy of my mom's death certificate. Who would bring that certificate to a trip abroad?! They let me in, still, after my father used his charm for them to allow me to take that trip.

That maybe the story behind the paranoia.

So here I am now at the airport.

Cheese! :)
